Mika is a New York native that lives and breathes hip hop culture and relentlessly continues to make her mark on the music industry. Mika’s hip hop knowledge is as extensive as her resume. Her experience ranges from professional programmer and marketer to talent and events manager. Mika worked with legendary independent hip-hop labels Definitive Jux, Fool’s Gold Records and Fat Beats Records. She also honed her marketing and programming skills at major media networks Fuse Media, Music Choice, iHeartRadio/Power 105.1 FM, and The Combat Jack Show.
Her present role as Senior Manager of Programming & Curation, she utilizes her past experiences and her ear for music to program, curate, & create all of the hip-hop, R&B, African & Caribbean playlists on Vevo. She is in charge of ensuring that the music represented is relevant to the culture. She also started the Podcasts on Vevo channel and is currently on-boarding and curating for that channel. On top of all that, she also is current member of The Recording Academy.
Aside from music, Mika's passion lies in eating her way through NYC, documenting everything through her food IG. You can usually find her somewhere in BK feasting on award-winning fried chicken while at a dope live show.
